Overview

Beer & Brats Inc., nestled on N Eastman Rd in Midland, Michigan, stands as a true local gem in the bar and grill scene. This establishment centers its menu around hearty American comfort food, with a name promising to deliver on two beloved staples: beer and brats. The focus here is clear—robust flavors, generous portions, and a casual atmosphere where locals gather for good food and good company.

The menu shines with signature dishes like the Mills Mountain Burger and the Barnyard Burger, each crafted to satisfy a craving for well-balanced, flavorful burgers. The Mac and Cheese Burger and the Three Little Pigs offer intriguing twists that highlight the kitchen’s creativity within traditional bar fare. For those craving something lighter or classic, selections like Chicken Tenders & Fries or Fried Pickles provide that perfect crunchy, satisfying bite. The Horseradish Brat and Olive Burger emphasize the brand’s commitment to bold, savory experiences that pair well with their carefully curated beer selection.

Beer & Brats Inc. is also notable for its late-night offerings. The pizza lineup features inventive options such as the Western Pizza with cowboy brat topping and the BBQ Chicken pizza, each layered with smoky, tangy flavors. Complementing these are snackable delights like boneless wings dressed in a range of sauces—from Buffalo Ranch to Garlic Parmesan—and basket staples like onion rings and cheese curds. These options cater well to night owls craving a substantial bite after hours.

Stepping inside, the space evokes the ambiance of a classic dive bar mixed with the communal spirit of a neighborhood hangout. While some might find the atmosphere a bit loud or the lighting harsh—comments likening it to a VFW hall are common—it undeniably serves a social crowd that embraces straightforward comfort dining. The layout offers enough tables to accommodate large groups, making it a practical choice for casual get-togethers. However, the lively environment may not suit those seeking a refined dining experience.

Patrons frequently praise the genuine hospitality and friendliness of the staff, enhancing the overall dining experience despite some quirks in ambience. The presence of complimentary popcorn and attentive servers adds warmth and familiarity, reinforcing a relaxed, welcoming vibe. While a few guests have noted pricing as slightly above what was expected for the portion sizes, others celebrate the value found in quality food and variety.

One standout feature is the Friday-only fish fry, a hard-to-find offering in the Midland area that draws repeat customers. The perch and walleye plates have received high marks for freshness and preparation, positioning Beer & Brats Inc. as a worthy alternative to other local fish fry venues. It’s a nod to the restaurant’s ability to diversify beyond burgers and bratwurst, appealing to a broader taste spectrum.

In summary, Beer & Brats Inc. excels as a bar and grill that knows its audience well—those seeking bold, comforting meals paired with a lively atmosphere reminiscent of a longstanding neighborhood hub. It caters to locals who appreciate hearty American classics and an informal space where drinks flow and friends gather. While not intended as a fine dining destination, it delivers on its promise of approachable, flavorful fare and a place to unwind.

Was hoping to get a steak but found out that was just a Thursday special. Hope they have it more often. A big plus is the multiple tables that can accommodate large groups for a meal. Also appreciate the complimentary popcorn

Kind of a hole in the wall. Server was very friendly. Ordered a grilled chicken wrap with buffalo ranch sauce and fries, it was excellent. Hubby ordered Mills country club burger and fries, said it was good. Pretty expensive for what we ordered.

So Beer and Brats is about its namesake, however, we chose to have fish?! Well, actually that’s the only reason we went there, because it’s only offered on fridays. Since the K of C in Auburn went belly up, it’s been a challenge to find a decent fish fry. The Boulevard has a perch dinner at $19, which is ok at best. So Beer and Brats offering that we tried was both the perch and Walleye. They were both really good. Better than the Bouley. Only wish it was offered more than just on Fridays…

This place is definitely a dive bar, we went here cause believe it or not, it’s hard to get a good brat where we live. This place did not disappoint on the food and service. The prices are great and there’s tons of options. The server was super nice and helpful. The only thing I didn’t love was the environment. It’s more like a locals/regulars bar that happens to have a great menu. We ate in and there were loud drunk people shouting and walking around and touching people. Bit of a shame cause it could be a great restaurant.

Have been here twice. The fish is excellent and the service great. The lighting is too bright - feels more like a VFW hall then a bar - but that would not keep me from coming back.

We enjoyed our mid afternoon lunch, and my son enjoyed this mountain sized burger! French fries were perfect, mini salad bar was just right and very tasty! Highly recommend trying Beer & Brats!
